1.The strangest dream I have had was of a criminal trying to reach me and kill me. In this dream I was running and hiding in the vents of a million dollar house trying to get him away from me and hide.

2.I do believe dream analyses are true because some of them I can relate to. For example as I am about to be killed in my dreams I wake up instantly. This is talked about in many articles relating dreams

3.Yes, I do have repetitive dreams. Many times I dream of a person chasing me. I usually get these dreams when I am stressed out. This shows me why I am continuously having these dreams in my life.

4.I think they can be helpful to whoever wants to believe in them. People can learn from what is causing the dream and know exactly why they are occurring.

    1. I think that people are not aware enough of mental health. Although we do have a week were we focus on it we are not informed about it throughout the year enough.

    2. No one I know has been affected by a mental health disorder. If I knew some one who was it would affect the way I viewed life. It would open my eyes on how much metal health does influence a persons life.

    3. In order to make people more aware of mental health week, I believe the school should bring in a personal speaker. This would allow people to witness someone who had their life affected by a mental disorder.

    Julia's Answer
    1. I believe that smoke free homes are a great idea because it helps people from developing or having respiratory problems. It also allows families to not have to worry about second or third degree smoke and it ensures that there are not smoking toxins within/throughout the house. In some houses you cannot smell whether smoking has taken place in the house and toxins could be within the walls and carpets therefore by having smoke-free home there is no need to worry about underlying toxins.
    2. I believe that smoke-free homes should cost more than homes for smokers because of the health benefits that come alongside of having a smoke-free home. Homes whose previous residents were smokers tend to be lower on the market than others of the same area because of the lingering smell and risks attached therefore having them cost more will make the home more wanted.
    3. This movement will help cut-down on second-hand smoke because those living in the some-free condos will not have to inhale the fumes and toxins of the cigarette in their own home environment. Although it cannot completely cut down on second-hand smoke it gives people a choice to limit their contact with the fumes.
    4. I believe that Canadians who don’t smoke will be for this idea because it can make them feel safer health-wise and mentally knowing that they do not have to worry about second or third degree smoking. However, I think that Canadian smokers will be against it because they may feel secluded and bad that they smoke.

    Julia's Answer
    1. I do not think people know enough about mental health because it is not advertised or campaigned enough. Not many people know the variations of mental health and their serious impacts it can have on an individual and people due to the fact that the education does not implement it into either curriculum or school wide activities.
    2. My grandma has a mental disorder called Alzheimer’s which is the disease where you literally lose your mind and forget everything and who everyone is. It has affected my family greatly because every time we visit her it is like we are strangers to her. It makes me sad because she is my only grandma and I am not able to have a grandmother grand-daughter relationship like most kids my age have. However, it affects my mother the most since it is her mother. She tries to visit her every week and my mom likes to repeat stories and names to her to try and help her remember but unfortunately it never works. It is sad to see someone who you love go through this and I would not wish this disease upon anyone.
    3. To make people more aware of mental health week I could talk to my friends about it and hopefully it would spread by word of mouth. Also, since technology has advanced so much and kids usually check their Facebook at least once a day, I could make a status about mental health week that way others will read it and maybe repost it for their set of friends to see.

    1. I do think I am addicted to Facebook. I check my Facebook usually when I am bored or have nothing to do. When I try to do homework I usually log on then I have to tell myself to log off because I get side tracked from it easily. I check it probably 3 times a day for notifications or messages.
    2. I think that social networking sites are great to keep in touch with people, have conversations and reconnect with others. However, I believe that social networking can be positive and negative. It’s positive because it is easy to talk with others and allows you to view other people’ lives. It is negative because people usually tend to not read over things before they post it, it can be used inappropriately sometimes. For instance, making rumours, posting vulgar pictures or statuses about people. I think that people don’t think before they post something and since it leaves a footprint and is never erased it can easily come back to haunt you in your future.
    3. Facebook can influence people’ lives because it becomes a constant obsession. It doesn’t allow your mind to rest and people get extremely caught up in the virtual world, they tend to ignore what is happening around them. People get so caught up in the drama, gossip and rumours, they tune out what needs to get done and ignore their emotional and physical needs such as sleep.

    Julia's Answer
    1. Personally I do not like video games unless they are interactive like Wi or Xbox connect where you actually move around to play the game. This is because I would get bored sitting around playing with a controller. I find that I have to be constantly moving around and video games like COD and Grand Theft Auto are pointless shooting games, I am not interested in them at all. I believe that parents are using video games as a babysitter and they are not monitoring what content their children are watching or playing, thus making the age rating on the video game pointless. I believe that video games have a negative effect on society today because they cause aggressive and violent behaviour. They cause aggression and violence mostly due to the shooting games. Children believe it is okay to fight in public because they think since it is okay to fight in a fantasy land, in reality it is acceptable.
    2. Violent video games do cause aggressive behaviour because it acts as an obsession. Just like when the parents took away the child’s video game on the YouTube video, it caused the boy to lash out and start throwing himself, screaming and hitting himself because he was so obsessed with hi video games. People are thinking they do it in video games so why can’t I do it in real life? They aren’t realizing the time and the place for these actions.
    3. I don’t think they need to change the rating M for Mature on COD because either way kids are able to get it. The rating is just a recommendation and children’ parents usually give in and buy it to avoid the tantrum thrown or to get their kid out of their hair. Also, since social networking has become so big, it is easy for kids to just give an older teen or young adult the money to buy it for them, thus making the rating inefficient. Just like how the drinking age is 19, alcohol is still easily accessible for anyone younger, a rating or age limit does not matter.
    4. I will let my children play video games as long as they are active and they have a time limit. An active game would be like Wi sports that way they aren’t just mindlessly looking at the screen pressing buttons they have to move around and stay mobile. I would set a time limit to ensure that their life entails more than hanging out around the T.V so they will be better-rounded and not obsessed with video games.

    Julia's Answer
    1. The strangest dream I have had was being stuck in a fun house at Wonderland during Fear Fest. I absolutely hate clowns and there were around 2 dozen of them circling me trying to run me over with their clown car. It made me wake up in the middle of the night and it was hard for me to get back to sleep.
    2. I believe that these dream analyses are true because I can relate some of them to my dreams. For instance I dream at least once a week of falling and teeth ones such as going to the dentist. However, I do have a lot of nightmares usually and I always wake up right when I am about to be killed or seriously hurt.
    3. I have never had a repeated dream. This is because I usually only remember parts of nightmares. None of them have been the same though.
    4. I think that these dream analyses are able to cause problems because they may make people overthink their dreams too much and cause them to believe that every dream they have will have an impact on their future. Also, they might develop anxiety or stress about their dreams if the person tends to take the analyses word for word. The person reading the analyse needs to realize that they may not always be right and that you shouldn’t shape your life trying to avoid or force situations in your life. Everything happens for a reason.

1.I believe that anyone under any circumstance should be able to enlist in the military. If people are straight, bisexual or gay people should be able to make the decision of enlisting. People fighting for the country should be looked upon in honor not looked down upon. This will not have any affect in my opinion on the safety of other soldiers. There however should be rules set into place upon having a people with different attractions.

    2. In my opinion I think that they were practicing there freedom of speech that having said I believe that people have the right to there opinion but in certain situations should respect everyone.

    3. I feel that no one has the right to tell a person that they are not able to do something that they feel so strongly about and that would have no affect over anyone. If a homosexual wants to fight in the military and is physically and mentally able to they should be allowed to do so. A political figure has no right to stop someone from protecting there country.

    4. No, the exclusion of African American people is exactly like the exclusion of homosexuals. These two issues in my opinion are both the same they are discrimination. You cannot tell someone to change the way they feel and live there lives for a few months if it comes naturally to them. This is why I believe everyone who is physically able to do something should be able to take part no matter how they look or feel.

    1. No, when I once had Facebook although I spent time on it I was not addicted to it. Although I did enjoy the social networking site for keeping up to date with what was going on with my friends and family I had my limits.

    2. I think social networking sites are a great way to stay in touch with people and up to date. These sites allow you to share what is happening with your life with a click of a button. Putting up photos, videos, posts etc to continuously keep your friends updated in your life. However if used irresponsibly these sites can harm us. We need to no the fine lines about what we can and cannot do on social networking sites. We must have certain limits to what we post etc. Being able to set limits for yourself on how much time you send online is key.

    3. Yes, I certainly think that Facebook does change many peoples lives for either the good or the bad. This site if used correctly can influence your life in a good way. People can use these sites to met people and create new relationships. Now 1 in 5 relationships start online. This shows us how Facebook can influence us in a good way. It can also affect us negatively if we spend all our time on the side and don’t personally socialize with other people.

    Marlissa's Response
    1. I fully believe that any person who wishes to enlist into the military should be allowed to do so, regardless if they are gay, straight, bisexual or otherwise. Enlisting yourself into the military is an honourable thing, and they should be thanked for helping their country, rather than booed for what they find attractive in another person. The only recommendation that I feel may be beneficial to the military as a group, would be to make a regulation to not have any relations within the team while they are at work. Being a part of the military is a serious job, and like any other job, it is important to have full attention and not to bring too much emotion into the work. In saying this, these men should not be punished for being gay and wanting to see other men on their own time. I appreciation the courage that these men have every day within their job, especially if they feel they can let other people know that they are gay, but would like to continue to represent their country in the military.
    2. I believe that every person has their own freedom of speech, but there should also be respect towards the other people in the room. Nobody has a right to chastise another person in a disrespectful way.
    3. It does not make sense for any gay man to not be enlisted in the military in order to support their country, merely based on their sexuality. Just as that man in the video had said, he kept it a secret that he was gay. No person comes with a sign that says “I am gay”, so anyone enlisting could just keep that as a secret, and get in anyways. Anybody should be able to enlist into the military, even if they are gay.
    4. I do believe that being an African American soldier is different than being a homosexual one. They are two different cases, but this does not mean that either of these groups of people are unfit to fight in the military. Even if being homosexual is “behavioural” this does not mean that you can stop being gay and then start again after the mission. Being homosexual is a way of life that they want to live, and you do not get to change that whenever you want. I feel that saying this is the same thing as telling a straight man to be gay for a couple of months, and then he can switch back to being heterosexual again later. This does not make any sense, and it should not even be considered.
